Description and characteristics

A solar charger collects energy from your solar panels and stores it in batteries. Using the latest, fastest technology, SmartSolar maximizes this energy collection by intelligently managing it to achieve a full charge in the shortest amount of time. SmartSolar maintains battery health by extending battery life.

Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/70-Tr VE.Can

SmartSolar Charge Controller
‍This
device will charge even a severely discharged battery. The charge controller can operate with battery voltages as low as 0 volts, provided the cells are not sulfated or otherwise damaged.

Features.

MPPT: Ultra-fast maximum power point tracking
‍By continuously
monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar panels, MPPT technology ensures that every drop of available power is flushed from the panels and harvested for storage. The advantage of this technology is most noticeable when the sky is partially cloudy and the light intensity is constantly changing.

Remote monitoring and control
‍Remotely
control and monitor the extensive capabilities of the SmartSolar MPPT charger using the built-in Bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or other device through VictronConnect. If your installation is connected to the internet with a GX device, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) gives you access to the full power of your MPPT anytime, anywhere; both VictronConnect and VRM are free to use. For remote installations - even if there is no internet connection nearby - you can control your MPPT by connecting a GlobalLink 520.

Optional SmartSolar Control Display
‍With the addition of
the SmartSolar Control Display, you can check the status of the charger and battery pack at a glance. Simply connect it to the front panel of the MPPT charger for real-time monitoring and adjustment.

Extensive electronic protection

  • Protection against overheating and power loss at high temperatures.
  • Protection against short circuit and reverse polarity of photovoltaic modules.
  • Protection against reverse current of photovoltaic modules.

Optional serial connection modules
‍The
VE.Can SmartSolar chargeris equipped with CAN bus ports. This enables communication with additional VE.Can SmartSolar chargers. The additional devices are simply connected to each other using a single RJ45 cable between the individual devices. When connected to each other, all individual VE.Can SmartSolar chargers synchronize their charge stages. They can also transmit their data via a single cable to the GX monitoring device.

Remote Monitoring and Control
‍When
your GX is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal gives you access to the full power of your solar chargers. For remote installations - even if there is no internet connection nearby - you can monitor your MPPT by connecting a GlobalLink 520.
