SimpCharge features

Below are the main functions that can be implemented with SimpCharge:

Functions without SimpBMS

1. Plug detection (type 1 or 2) based on proximity signal - dedicated 12 V output, when plug is inserted, EVSE does not need to be turned on
2. Active EVSE detection by pilot signal - dedicated 12 V output when the pilot signal is active
3. Turning on the EVSE using a simple 12V signal - can come from any 12V source; BMS signal (same as the charger activation signal) or a simple 12V switch

Functions with SimpBMS

1. Detection of available AC power from EVSE - The pilot signal is configured to be read by SimpBMS, allowing automatic limiting of Canbus-based chargers.

SimpCharge NOT
Limit the AC charging current consumed by the charger
Allows fast DC charging

SimpCharge can be used to achieve the following goals:

1. Disconnect the vehicle from driving while it is connected to the network
2. Allow charging with the on-board AC charger / EVSE
